One half of the evening will be devoted to Table Topics, our impromptu speaking section, and the other half will be devoted to members' Prepared Speeches, Evaluations and the presenting of Ribbons …
We’re an friendly, eclectic group; our members range in age and nationality, including people for whom English isn’t their first language. We have some experienced speakers, and plenty of enthusiastic amateurs that come from all over Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The two things we have in common are our passion for personal development, and our commitment to having fun whilst improving.
On April Fool's Day 2009, twelve motivated people got together at The Didsbury pub - but it was no laughing matter! These men and women wanted to start a brand new Toastmasters Public Speaking club in South Manchester to develop their leadership and communications skills. Three months and 6 meetings later, the club was running at 20 members, and formally chartered as a club of Toastmasters International - giving access to a huge variety of educational resources and worldwide recognition for the completion of speech and leadership projects.
Today, the club meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at Withington Golf Club, 243 Palatine Road, West Didsbury, M20 2UE.
Why not come along to the next meeting to find out more for yourself?
Didsbury Speakers is run by a committee of members elected annually in June by the club members - more info about our current committee can be found on our Club Committee Page
